Are you a veteran with a family? Recognizing the needs of today’s student veteran, the University of Connecticut fully supports the growth of both the veteran and their families. From grants, spouse support, and housing options, there are a number of government and institutional resources to help you and your family get the most from your UConn experience.

Housing

Veterans at The University of Connecticut have multiple options for housing while attending. The Post 9/11 G.I. Bill provides a housing allowance for veterans and their families. The University of Connecticut also provides the option for veterans to choose between traditional student housing and the Veteran’s Housing option while enrolled at the university.

Making the Transition from Boots to Books

Making the transition from boots to books and entering college life can sometimes be challenging. At The University of Connecticut, we have programs specifically designed to aid transitioning service members.  Below, you will find information to get you moving in the right direction, including the critical steps needed to verify your military service, apply to the University, and obtain financial aid.  The first step is reviewing and familiarizing yourself with the veterans' checklist.  Please contact us if you have any questions.  We hope to see on one of our campuses in the future!
